Classic Piano International Competition in Spain

The fourth edition of the Classic Piano International Competition will be arriving at the magnificent Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, from the 10th to the 20th of September 2028, marking an incredible ten years since the competition’s founding with its most ambitious and far-reaching edition to date. Open to pianists of all nationalities between the ages of 15 and 30*, Classic Piano 2028 will be bringing together exceptional young pianists from all across the globe, promising a spectacular celebration of artistry, talent, and musical excellence at the very highest level.

In the lead-up to the Grand Finale, an international series of six distinct preliminary contests, held in Seoul, Vienna, New York, London, Rome, and Shanghai throughout 2027, will identify the most outstanding piano talents from all four corners of the globe. The top two pianists from each event will then advance to Barcelona, where they will compete in a final round alongside the Franz Schubert Philharmonic, performing before a distinguished 23-member jury of leading conductors, agents, and music industry professionals.

With a total prize fund of €330,000 and extensive international media coverage, Classic Piano 2028 continues its mission to support and elevate the next generation of concert pianists.
